The costs involved in renovating and maintaining heritage buildings are high. Home-owners do not always have sufficient financial means to restore their properties. A matching grant scheme to provide an amount equal to that contributed by the owner (up to a maximum limit of 5000 Euros) - was implemented. Expert assistance was offered to the building owners to prepare the restoration scheme and estimates for the renovation.
