V.Subbiah and Saraswathy
Memorial Museum
17 Vellala Street
Year: 2012
A good example of a Tamil style building that has been recently renovated and extended on the upper floor. The thinnai, thalvaram and the sunshade constitute the main façade of this house. Apart from these, twin pilasters, parapet and cornice mouldings compose the façade, providing a framework for the window and door openings. The original wooden pillars of the thinnai have been replaced by round masonry pillars and the mutram is lined with square masonry fluted columns.
