Temples of Pondicherry

The existence of Pondicherry's more than 1000-year-old temples is what gives the city its ancient villages. These temples have amazing aesthetic expression and offer comprehensive information about their architecture. The trip will be a narrative from the perspectives of archaeology and Indian studies, with a particular emphasis on iconography and inscriptions. The guided tour will bring back memories of the kingdoms' histories and their amazing structures, which feature complex friezes and inscriptions. We'll go to three of these 10th-century temples. We'll stop at a large temple from the 12th century with enormous towers and a temple tank if time allows.
